Our Story

Anxiety & OCD Behavioral Health Center was founded in 2013 by Dr. Heather Plinovich to address a critical gap in Northwest Indiana: access to specialized, evidence-based care for anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and related conditions. From the beginning, our goal has been clear — deliver treatment that works, in a space where people feel supported and understood.

What began as a solo practice in Munster, IN, has grown into a small team of doctoral-level psychologists and master’s-level counselors serving children, teens, adults, and families across Northwest Indiana and beyond. With offices now in Schererville and Chesterton, as well as telehealth and PSYPACT coverage, we make high-quality care more accessible than ever.

Since 2021, we’ve been honored to be voted Best in Mental Health Counseling by the Northwest Indiana Times every year — a recognition that reflects both the trust of our community and the lasting results our patients achieve.

Presentations & Training

Our clinicians regularly share expertise through community talks and professional trainings. Locally, we’ve partnered with schools, libraries, and community organizations to address topics such as school refusal, anxiety in teens, selective mutism, and compassion fatigue in educators.

At the professional level, our team has presented at national and international conferences, including the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) and the Anxiety & Depression Association of America (ADAA), as well as state and university trainings. Topics include exposure therapy, selective mutism, OCD in college students, and transitions in emerging adulthood.
